Building your foundation
It’s the often overlooked part of an athlete’s training program. Athletes log long hours practicing sport-specific skills like shooting, dribbling or hitting. And yes, those are important, but so is building the foundation to move better and be stronger.
The best time to do dedicated strength and conditioning is the off-season before an athlete would start ramping up their training into a competitive season. This allows time to build a solid base of strength, power, mobility and overall athleticism without the high volume training that happens once sports practices start.

performance
Customized strength work provides athletes with a competitive advantage across a multitude of areas:
- Athletes learn to move with proper mechanics and fluidity – a huge asset for building sport-specific skills as their competitive season approaches.
- By addressing and correcting muscular imbalances (we all have them!) and strengthening often-neglected areas like the core; athletes become more resistant to overuse issues and common injuries.
- Strength training conditions the body to withstand high training volumes while recovering effectively. This is helpful when the season starts and athletes have daily practices or even two-a-days.
- When an athlete is stronger they are more confident and resilient. Plus, challenging the body in new ways gives a mental break too. When athletes take a little time away from sports-specific training, they are often more ready to be back on the court or field when the season starts.
